Aware that I have done a few posts recently about my travels, village life and everyday life in general, I feel it is definitely time to return to what is really the essence of this blog, interiors, and for this post I would like to show everyone the house that I, honestly, enjoyed shooting with Doug and styling the most…ever…

I have not done a detailed analysis of all the houses Doug has photographed, I do not have a record of my reaction to every one of them – there are so many and of course they are all lovely – that is why they have been shot for magazines!

I am just talking about a gut reaction – a sense of something that just struck me very, very personally.

This is the Perthshire home of architect James Denholm and his wife, interior Designer, Fiona. We had a wonderful day with Fiona, I loved meeting her and hearing about her life and now, grown up family, and James joined us for lunch. Both Doug and I enjoyed the sense of space and flow that James had created in the beautiful extension he had added to an old farmhouse: contemporary but not senselessly modern, sensitive to the rural surroundings. We also loved Fiona’s subtle, muted palette; gorgeous, mauvey-pink accents against a consistent background of white and grey.

The full feature can be seen in this months, the November issue, of Country Homes & Interiors magazine
